Who we are
atproto.nl is an independent community project, run by volunteers. It is not a company and not affiliated with Bluesky Social PBC. Questions? Reach us on mu.social or open an issue on the site repo.
What we store
Almost nothing. The site is static, and we have no database and no accounts on our side. In your browser we keep only your theme preference and the last handle you typed (in localStorage), plus your sign-in session while you are signed in. Your likes, follows, and RSVPs are written to your own AT Protocol account (PDS), not to us.
How AT Protocol works
Your data lives in your own account and is public by design. We read those public records to show members, tools, and activity. We do not keep our own copy beyond what your browser needs to render the page.
Third parties
- The Bluesky AppView (public.api.bsky.app) to read public records.
- Sifa ID (sifa.id) to enrich member profiles from public records.
- Codeberg Pages hosts the site.
- Umami (u.a11y.nl) for privacy-friendly, cookieless visitor stats.
Analytics
We use Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics tool we self-host in the EU (u.a11y.nl). Umami sets no cookies, does not track you across other sites, and stores no personal data or IP addresses. We only see aggregate counts: which pages get visited, which site you came from, and coarse country, browser, and device type. No ads, no tracking cookies.
We do not send email yet. If we later add email notifications for events, it will be opt-in, and we will describe here what we store and how to unsubscribe.
Your rights (GDPR)
Because we hold almost no personal data, there is little to request from us. Clear your browser storage to remove local data, and manage your AT Protocol records in your own app. For questions, use the channels above.
Governing law
Dutch law applies. The supervisory authority is the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
