you ever think about how the ZIRP era basically ensured that only a few companies would have consolidated enough capital to basically ensure that they're the ones controlling and profiting off of AI?

@robin.berjon.com FYI: the "click on my own name in the dropdown to go to my own profile" thing works now! Sorry it took longer than 15 minutes, people kept talking to me :p

"Country" is not a default field in an atproto profile, so it takes some gymnastics and estimations to get to a number, so I happily invite feedback from people smarter than me on how this could be further improved πŸ˜…

It would also be interesting to have a list of influential developers, like @43081j.com, with complex names that could be easily misinterpreted

Inspired by @jviide.iki.fi post about GitHub name typosquatting, I made a prototype of a possible action we could use in our workflows πŸ‘€

Ah, Sunday block day. One of those days where instead of engaging, I will actually stop and ponder "is this going to frustrate me, or is this going to be good". Frustrate? Block. Good? Aight let's do it. Just curating my experience, you see.

AngryDutchman@angrydutchman.houseofmadness.org

Yep, guess I forgot to `/compact` in time, Sonnet has just gone full pants on head stupid.

@iame.li any particular reason the Streamplace discord requires me to verify my identity by phone? I joined a while back and it wasn't necessary then, is this a youse guys thing, or a Discord thing?

Claude getting all passive-aggressive on me today. It literally just went "holding off mid-conversation so I'm not rewriting it three more times as this keeps evolving" (because I asked it to hold on to a thought while I go off on a tangent). 🀣 finally my snark seems to be rubbing off

AngryDutchman@angrydutchman.houseofmadness.org

Damn. I guess I'm going to have to fire up Discord again so I can pick PDS operator brains. Still going to keep repeating that I wish we had a PDS toucher IRC or something.

You know, every time I've said or written something about W Social I always referred to "the cult of W" as a joke. But fuck me if it's not actually for really real happening.

even if my French customer base would probably amount to like, 1% of business. Maybe. Goddamn. Well, good thing my partner is French, she can translate for me 🀣 if I ever get done writing the damn docs in the first place...

AngryDutchman@angrydutchman.houseofmadness.org

Oh joy. The funnest part of trying to develop a service that actually, you know, has paying customers. Terms of service. Privacy policy. DPA. Then on top of that the goddamn French government which pretty much requires all that is available in French too, just because it's a French company doing it

Tijs Teulings πŸ¦‘@tijs.org

This is the updated summary after the lastest round of testing btw (small but useful models running locally, M1 32GB) github.com/tijs/local-m...

Horizontal bar chart titled β€œBest overall β€” composite score by model,” ranking local LLM configurations by a composite benchmark score combining pass rate, speed, time, and turns. The top models are Ornith-1.5-35B-A3B GGUF at 0.591, the same model via llama.cpp at 0.586, Laguna-XS-2.1 at 0.560, and HaUncensored-35B-A3B at 0.554. Scores decline through several Qwen3 and LFM2.5 configurations to 0.063; one LFM2.5-2.6B GGUF configuration failed the usefulness gate.
